Safety Precautions
Most of the properties advertised on this web site are privately owned and are
designed to the specification of the owner. Features including steep and
unguarded staircases, ornate balconies or pools may make certain properties
unsuitable for parties with young or less mobile guests.
Special attention must be paid to the following:
Balconies and other steep drops, protected by
railings or other barriers (or in some cases without any protection) which may
encourage small children to climb or squeeze through. Do not leave children
unattended on balconies where they can climb on to patio furniture.
Glass doors patio doors and windows which may be
difficult to see in bright sunlight. Private homes will not necessarily
have stickers on glass doors, patio doors or windows. It is strongly
recommended that children are not to be allowed to run in and out of glass
doors as they often have a tendency to shut the other person out by closing the
door behind them. The following person may not notice that the door has been
closed.
Marble floors can be extremely slippery when feet are wet. All
marble floors within the property should be kept dry at all times to avoid such
accidents occurring.
Gas is frequently supplied from a bottle. Please ensure that the
cooker is never left unattended and that burners are extinguished correctly
after cooking. In windy conditions take extreme care that drafts do not
extinguish the burners.
Swimming Pools are always dangerous and children should never be
left unattended no matter how proficient they are at swimming. Pool surrounds
or marble floors may be very slippery and care should be taken at all times.
Please ensure that you and your party familiarise yourselves with the pool
layout to identify the shallow and deep ends. Ensure that you read and
observe any pool rules and restrictions.
Hot Water is usually heated by turning on an emersion switch.
If the switch is left on too long not only will the water be scorching
hot, but the elements in the tank will burn out. Engineers are not as quick to
responding to emergency call-outs as they are in the UK, so you may find
yourself being left without any means to heat the water.
Furniture please do not sit or lay on furniture with suntan oil on
your body as this will undoubtedly cause damage to the furnishings.Wet swimwear
can also cause stains.
Breakages must be reported immediately.
Please remember that the property owners are offering you their home and safety
standards will almost certainly differ to those of your own home. Care
should be taken at all times to avoid accidents, especially with the points
mentioned above.
